Deep Silver brings the hype for uzi monkey’s.

MOOD SWINGS

MOOD SWINGS?

Besides being the obvious side effect to a hormonal outburst, ‘Mood Swings’ is an editorial crafted by our editor Jay Tee, alongside contributions from the JTGA team. It’s like a series of extended tweets, ranting or raving about something terrible / great that has happened in the world of gaming.

It’s a collection of random musings designed to provide a snapshot of what we’re doing, things you should be excited for, and stuff to avoid as you navigate the choppy waters of this wonderfully unpredictable hobby.

Anything, from reactions to a new game announcement, surprising breaking news, to our cat just nibbled our thumb sticks, can be found here. Each “Mood Swing” will be tagged with either a green, yellow, or red Tarp badge. This represents a visual indicator of our reaction.

RADICAL CHOICE - I couldn’t be happier that Koch Media and Deep Silver have snagged the rights for TimeSplitters. They have been wallowing in the clutches of Crytek for far too long, lying dormant for what felt like an age. Inevitably, this will lead to some kind of ‘testing the water’ style HD re-release… perhaps even a set that contains the entire trilogy?! Uncontrollable optimism aside, this is fantastic news, and a real power play by Koch Media. They also snagged Second Sight in the deal, an underrated GameCube era classic. - JAY TEE

This is both charming and horrifying. Playing as this guy in multiplayer was an absolute treat though. Yay! Timesplitters!

THE BATTLE BUS IS FULL - There’s nothing inherently wrong with capitalising on a hot trend. Let’s face it: Fortnite, PUBG, H1Z1 and the like have all proven that there’s money to be made if you can release a half decent Battle Royale game. But I can’t help feeling a sense of mild disappointment every time I see ANOTHER game try and jump on the bandwagon, especially when it feels shoehorned into an existing franchise. Today’s gameplay reveal of Battlerite Royale was fine, I guess, but it doesn’t seem to be adding anything to the formula. - JAY TEE

DIGGING DEEPER - Thanks to a full report from Kotaku, we now know that the extent of ex-IGN staffer Filip Miucin’s plagiarism goes far beyond his Dead Cells review coverage. This story seems to be getting worse by the day, and it certainly shines a light on not only his poor decision making as a writer, but a potential lack of editorial oversight. Regardless, IGN seem to be doing the best job they can, with several current employee’s expressing frustration at the way this has unfolded. This whole thing is a mess. - JAY TEE

TIMESPLITTERS (PS2, XB, GC, PC)

Yep. Another Battle Royale game. This one is also a MOBA! A Battle Royale MOBA. Whatever that means.

BATTLERITE ROYALE (PC)

It’s a pretty bad state of affairs, and one that seems to be getting worse. More time is needed to fully take in the scope of what has happened.
